It’s been a long while that we haven’t post any special built. There’s so many thing that happened early this year. For Me, I need to complete my thesis while keeping up to run this website with my friend, Iman and Alfred. Not so long ago, I met Adhi Mulya at SDC Auto Fest. He wasn’t bring his car to the event, but he told me that his car is still on work in process at Platinum Garage. He said that the color of his VW Scirocco would be Xyralic Gold Sunkist or you may say orange mixed with black Work Seeker FX. At first I was amazed that people would rarely chose the orange and black colors.
While me and Iman shot his VW Scirocco, our good friend also came by to see Adhi’s Scirocco. It seems like Gustavo was really delighted when seeing Adhi VW Scirocco. FYI, VW Scirocco is one of the most favourite VWs in Indonesia. Many people owned this Scirocco these days. But not so many has played this well. Adhi really put an effort to built his car. Without considering the risks of personalizing his VW Scirocco, Adhi just made this car stands out among the fellow VW Scirocco in Indonesia.
Despite all the saying that bright colors won’t get cool when met the dark colors, it seems like Adhi’s personal mix was turns out great. He just broke the rules of colors. While chosing the colors of rims people would rarely put black color to their deep dish wheels like his Work Seeker FX. But while saw this clean VW Scirocco, it seems like Adhi really done a great job. With the help from the guys at Platinum Garage, Adhi repaint it with the beer Xyralic Gold Sunkist and put a simply add on all around his Scirocco.
Around early 2000s people like to push their modification’s creativity on their cars. Not only the exterior’s major modifications, but also major interior modifications. But when the OEM+ trends has came over the Indonesian’s car scene, people like to keep the original condition on the interiors, but still touched it with minor modifications as their personality. For the inside Adhi re-trimmed the interiors to Nappa Synthetic leather. But overall he keep the interiors on the original condition. He still want to enjoys the authentic VW Interiors, but still with his personal touch.
Driving a VW Scirocco was truly a sports car experience. With its aerodynamics, VW Scirocco designed to pushed on a high speed with style. In Indonesia, VW Scirocco came out with 2 type, The Scirocco 1.4 TSI and Scirocco R 2.0. But Adhi himself made some replacements on the engine. He put Simota Air Intake, Custom Exhaust System with Remus Muffler Tip, Monster tuning box, Forged blow off, Forged clutch rubber. The results was quite fun, 244 Horsepower and 387 Torque.
These days, Indonesian’s car scene was aware with the use of Air Suspensions. Throwing their egos to drive static suspensions and sacrifice the chassis of the cars or the bodyworks that was perfectly made and ruined by the speed traps. But with Air Suspensions people now realized that they don’t need to broke their fenders or ruined their bumpers because of the easily adjustable suspensions. Maybe it still took a long time to trial your cars and evaluate the errors, but in the making of a stands out cars there’s a painful process. So, Adhi realize the use of Air Suspensions and put Universal Air Suspensions to his VW Scirocco to make it drivable around town for a daily drive.

Adhi’s story reminds us about the process of building cars and the rules that we need to brake just to make it stands out among the packs. But building cars and living as a car enthusiast, the numbers of followers or the growth of social gains was just the perks. The true value as a car enthusiast is in our process of understanding, learning, and fulfill it with the loves of our cars. The result, you may guess. But we’ll make sure that it’ll be a great journey!
