Based on our journey in the car-scene, we consider that we have two type of enthusiast. The first one was purist, a pure enthusiast that always insist on traditional rules and heritage in a car brand and praised the origin tuner. The second one was the open minded enthusiasts, a person that put all their creativity in modifications and being more flexible with the modification parts that they’d been put into their car. But both still stands on the right norms of modifications of course. Even the norms itself is still on the grey side of the scenes.

We believe that the Indonesians car scene was still based on the enthusiasts opinion themselves, and based on what we’re talking to each others on the local meet up and auto show, there’s some people that still praise the origin tuner and always give all their thumbs to a single-tuner car like the BMW E30 with full Alpina Body-kits, Engines, Interiors, and of course the famous Alpina Type A. But on mid 2012 we’ve seen some European cars with a set of Enkei wheels, Rays, or even Rota. So, what happened to them? Do they broke the norms, spit the rules? we take that as big NO!

It’s true that sometimes the owners (especially the BMWs) need to customized the bolt pattern to 5×114 from 5×120 or simply put adapters to their wheels. But, they take it as a sacrifice for the sake of their taste in car modifications. Since a taste was not measurable, so we cannot say that it’s wrong. But as long as it was proper enough and not ruined the car’s persona and charisma, then why the hell not?

Last week, we met some car enthusiasts from #BASBIN family, a local car enthusiasts from Bintaro area and called themselves as Basis Bintaro. This time, we met a couple of the #BASBIN’s members, Fergian Gandhi and Adil Fadillah. Both of them was one of our early features Fergian (Eggy) with his equipped with M-Tech body kit and rolled with AC Schnitzer Wheels. The another guy was Adil Fadillah (Adil) with his that equipped with an authentic Rays TE37SL for BMW. So surprisingly at first these guys have a different taste. We can say that Eggy was a purist, and Adil was the open minded ones. Their background was also different. Adil was a pilot and Eggy was still a freshman on college. But both of them love to modify their BMWs to their own limitations. But their similarity in automotive world was made them create a new style in car modifications

Talking about fitment, these fitments was really good. We can say that it shows form = functions. The E46 base model was really good. But we never thought that putting a Japanese wheels would change the whole game. Adil was using Enkei RP01 18×8,5-9,5 and Eggy was using Advan RG1 17×8,5-9,5 ET31-34. The fitment was stunning. with this fitment, they can both push the car and ballin’ on the same time.

At first sight, we may say that both of these cars was very identical. But can say maybe just the colors. Even both got a JDM-Wheels and both got M-Tech kits, Both Adil and Eggy have their own style. From Tire choice and fitments was all different. Anyway, even many people said that both cars was very identical, there’s no competitions on both Adil and Eggy. They remain as car bros! and, that kind of behavior that will make our car scenes better.

When the we’ve done taking pictures, both Adil and Eggy told us that they’ll change their paints into different colors and both on different style. But they won’t tell us what colors that they will put. So, dear friends, we are honored to wait you guys on what’s next!
