Indonesian stance scene is really growing. From the static era to the newly age of bags. There’s a certain reason why some people have a courage to change their static suspension setup to air suspensions. Some says that they want to park their car lower to the ground, but some want to have the best fitment and but not ruining the essentials of the cars like the fender, and the chassis. But there’s a thing that we must not forget about building cars, the details. Meet Felix, a fellow Volkswagen fanatics built his VW Golf with a detailed touch.
When we came into a car scene, there’s always be much amount of motivations when we see a great car sitting nicely on the show. Some like the Japanese, or Americans, but there’s some that like an European touch. As a car enthusiast, Felix first in love with the brand of one of the best German manufacturer, the Volkswagen. The first car he likes, of course the legendary Volkswagen Beetle. He said, he love the Volkswagen brand not just because its looks and uniqueness, but also its engine and technology like the Volkswagen Direct Shift Gearbox.
Felix explained any aspect of his car with a detailed explanations. There’s a story in any parts that had been installed on his MK6. Felix told us that he need to sell his Volkswagen Scirocco just for this MK6 GTI. Its performance, and rarity makes him to take a risk to sell his beloved Scirocco. Then, he said when he first found this MK6 GTI, he need to put much effort for owning this MK6 GTI. The previous owner is such a Volkswagen fanatics that had been collecting many VWs and letting this MK6 GTI go, is not an easy deal. After much effort to propose the previous owner to sell this MK6 GTI then after he got the car,he started to put some modifications in its exterior like the Osir front lips, side mirror, side skirt, diffuser, footrest, and the Golf R Tail light.
The VW Golf MK6 stock engine was mostly known with it’s efficiency and reliable power because of the 150 kW (200 hp) turbocharged I-4 TSI gasoline engine. But Felix MK6 GTI have a tremendous engine and perfectly modified with its own details. Felix says that his VW Golf was upgraded to APR Stage 1 and causing the raise of the engine power to 269 HP and 295 Torque as measured by APR. For the Intake he used APR and Forge for the blowoffs. The exhaust Felix installed Eisenmann tailpipe and soundpipe.
For the undercarriage, Felix prefer the legendary OZ Futura 18×8,5-10 and combining it with Airmax Bags over coilovers with Dual Viair 480C Compressor and Airlift 4 Gallon Aluminium air tank with Airlift Manual Management. The result is outstanding. We’re thrilled while seeing this MK6 GTI on the ‘aired out’ mode got the tight fitment and proper fitment. Anyway putting air suspensions is kind of a new game in Indonesia. On early 2000s there’s only a few people used the air suspensions but just for show. But now, people can make their cars on bags for their daily driven. Felix is one of them, and it’s cool.
Building a cool car is simple. But keep it as your daily driven, is another game.
Cheers,
